Card making

These 3 cards were made within the last month.  The top one, I used a free stamp to create a birthday card for my Nana.  I used my watercolour pencils for the first time!  The second card was my thank you card for my associate teacher (from Teaching experience), I used some flowers, kindy glitz, stamps, ribbon and the cuttlebug.  Lastly is my thank you card for the classroom I had my teaching experience in.  It uses a Tatty teddy 3d embellishment, which took ages to put together (probably because I had to sand the tabby bits off)  (would have been quicker to completely make it from scratch :)   )  It feels good to be creative :)

Writing essays

I hate writing essays!  I don't mind the researching bit - in fact, when given a juicy topic, I quite enjoy the research side of things.  But it is the endless writing of the essay I despise.  It seems to take forever to find just the right words to say, then to re-find the perfect quote to back that up, then to reference it.  Then finally when you are finished you have to go back and refine it all - make sure the words fit in the word limit, and spellcheck.  I do like re-reading my essay's though, it always amazes me that they read so well, that they flow well and make complete sense.  Am I tooting my own horn?  Well maybe a little.  My marks aren't bad so the essays cant' be too hideous either.

This post is more about procrastination than about enlightening anybody about my study habits.

This is my uke. I love playing it, even though I am not all that wonderful at making sweet music with it. Yet. But practice makes better and I am definately getting better. I am going to "The Nukes" tonight, they are a ukulele band and they are holding a workshop before their concert which I am also going to. I can't wait!!

Playing ATK

Jess is really enjoying daycare at the moment.  She is often found playing ATK, where she is one of the whaea ma, and everything and everyone has to be one of the kids.  Her babies say the karanga mo te kai (call to eat) and then sit nicely and say their kai karakia (blessing the food), her babies also go to sleep in the ruma moe (sleep room) and are usually pretty good.  Except for whichever baby is playing Waidia, that baby NEVER goes to sleep, is always running outside and interrupts during prayers.  I'm not sure who Waidia is, but am glad she doesn't come to work with us!!  Jess is playing ATK in this pic, the kids are just playing together nicely, Waidia is obviously not at ATK today.

It is interesting to see what things Jess picks up and remembers from daycare, she is often singing the karakia and waiata, and her babies have to go through the routine!  Neat to watch!
